Reports to: Nurse Manager

Wage Range: $40.24 – $57.68 per hour (start rate is non‑negotiable and in accordance with collective agreement requirements)

Hours: 18.75 Hours per Week

Shifts: Days/Nights/Weekends/Stat Holidays

Status: Permanent Part‑Time

Closing Date: January 8, 2026

Position Summary

As a member of UHN and the Nursing Multi‑Disciplinary Team in Emergency, the REGISTERED NURSE practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.

Duties
  • Applying knowledge of nursing science, theory, skill and critical decision making in the provision of compassionate, collaborative and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing and the mission and vision of nursing at UHN.
  • Ensuring practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the UHN policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrating commitment to professional lifelong learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the patient population served and the standards of the profession.
  • Performing reflective practice, analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge and modifying practice accordingly to improve the quality of nursing and patient care.
  • Performing cross‑functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and/or requested.
Qualifications
  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (required)
  • Evidence of continuing education in Emergency and/or critical care nursing (preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and decision‑making skills
  • BScN (preferred)
  • 2+ years current Emergency nursing experience (preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (preferred)
  • Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) Emergency Nurse certification (preferred)
  • Registration with the RNAO (preferred)
