Beta-Calco is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team. You will be working out of our head office located at 1400 Whitehorse Road, Toronto, Ontario, M3J 3A7.
This is a permanent, full‑time position, based on 32.5 hours per week. Work hours will be from 9:00am until 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Further information respecting the position can be found below.
PositionAs a Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring Beta‑Calco’s products and manufacturing processes comply with established quality standards and regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Quality Control Manager, you will oversee daily quality assurance activities, including inspections, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting. The Quality Assurance Supervisor also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, cross‑functional collaboration, and process optimization across the production lifecycle.
Dutiesinclude the following:
- Overseeing the company’s quality assurance operations, including supervising staff, ensuring products meet quality and regulatory standards, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
- Leading quality assurance programs across the production, inventory and inspection teams, including supporting the design and optimization of processes to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste while maintaining or improving overall quality.
- Completing daily production floor checks, including reviewing production schedules, setting or verifying machine/equipment controls to ensure proper settings are used during production, inspecting raw materials or components prior to use, and requisitioning supplies as required.
- Performing in‑process production line inspections to ensure wiring, assemblies, and dimensions are compliant with technical drawings/specifications, and performing sample electrical and functional testing to ensure performance and regulatory compliance.
- Overseeing and directing work of Quality Assurance Technician, including assigning duties, monitoring performance, and coordinating activities with other departments to ensure production and shipping schedules are met.
- Recording inspection outcomes, preparing detailed quality reports, and maintaining accurate documentation within QA systems.
- Identifying and documenting quality issues or non‑conformances and initiating corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) in coordination with production teams.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including engineering and supply chain, to resolve design issues or component non‑conformities, particularly vendor‑related quality concerns.
- Supporting the collection, compilation, and analysis of operational and quality data to identify trends, track performance, and propose continuous improvement initiatives, and making recommendations to support quality assurance and production planning.
- Training new production employees on quality procedures, standards, and safety practices, and conducting refreshers or spot training for existing staff when needed.
- Preparing for and participating in internal audits and ensuring ongoing readiness for external or customer audits (e.g., ISO, GMP, etc.).
- Contributing to plant safety and compliance by delivering relevant safety training, ensuring staff are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, completing routine health and safety inspections, overseeing ongoing compliance with safety standards and procedures, and addressing any violations or hazards.
- Successful completion of a post‑secondary diploma or degree in science, engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
