What is the opportunity?

Global Know Your Customer (KYC) Refresh Team is seeking a highly talented Quality Control (QC) expert, specializing in domestic and international AML policies and KYC, to lead the RBC Capital Markets KYC Refresh QC function. In this role the primary responsibility will be Senior QC Manager with management responsibility of the regional Canada QC Refresh and London Team, tracking and driving process quality improvements, identifying control gaps, providing training, and enhancing regulatory / policy knowledge across the QC and Global Refresh team.

Additionally, this Senior Manager will lead and coordinate any regulatory and audit fieldwork and delivery of action plans related to any audit findings.

• Ensure that Know Your Client (KYC) due diligence and information are collected prior to establishing any client relationship in accordance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance regulations and RBC policies.
• Approve Client Refresh requests and ensure compliance with AML standards and policies.
• Manage a team of QC analysts in the Toronto, Halifax and London offices.
• Provide management oversight for vendor QC resources.
• Coordinate and remediate Quality Assurance monthly deficiencies.
• Act as lead coordinator for audit review and regulatory inspections.
• Lead by example, react flexibly to changing business needs and ensure skill set transfer to support other teams.
• Motivate individual and team performance to conduct accurate QC reviews of Global KYC Refresh cases for Capital Markets (CM), increasing throughput.
• Regularly interact with AML global compliance teams.
• Maintain and build strong relationships with the front office and global KYC Capital Markets stakeholders.
• Coordinate training with KYC Refresh analysts to drive process and quality improvements in the client lifecycle.
• Enhance current KYC procedures to mitigate regulatory breaches and ensure regulatory updates are captured.

Must-Have:

• BA/BS or equivalent.
• Preferred KYC QC experience.
• Minimum 2 years of KYC/AML Capital Markets experience with a financial institution.
• In‑depth knowledge of global regulatory requirements.

Nice‑To‑Have:

• Operations or technology degree, background, or experience.
• Familiarity with RBC organization, systems, and business.
• Experience with Fenergo, Goldtier, or CDR, or advanced knowledge of CM trading & settlement applications.
