JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to Dr. Rochon, CMWH Principal Investigator, and working in close collaboration with CMWH-affiliated investigators, the Research Manager II role will support activities related to a program and research focused on health.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Works independently to support research priorities and strategies for CMWH, in conjunction with the Project Manager I (Strategy)Develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate research outputs, trainee development, and program effectivenessOversees research data systems and ensures compliance with data governance, privacy, and security policiesPrepares data for processing by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighing the raw dataDevelop search strategies and conduct literature searches in conjunction with informational specialistProvides reliable literature, evidence and references for the proposals and papersPerforms systematic reviews and synthesis of clinical research evidenceScreens the retrieved literature and assess the quality of eligible studies by using the appropriate toolsDevelop relevant data extraction forms and collect the required informationManages the administrative responsibilities of the CMWH research program, including human resources and finance functionsParticipates in initial project design, setting of research goals and the selection and development of proceduresEnsures effective human resource allocation through recruitment, selection, training, and performance managementProvides direct supervision of assigned research staff and research traineesUtilizes ongoing research study findings, develops and writes grant proposals for new research activitiesLeads the coordination of all grant applications, including overseeing all elements of grant preparation, review and submissionOversee the preparation and submission of all research-related reportingContributes to the development and review manuscripts, award applications, grants and proposals of investigators, including letters of supportManages the preparation of all REB applicationsReviews Data Transfer Agreements and Research Agreements with investigators and other internal and external stakeholders (research service departments, external study sites, etc.) in conjunction with Research Project Manager IPlans and lead research meetings, including coordination of required documentation, slides, minutes etc.Creates research reportsLeads the creation of graphical material to accompany grant applications, reports, awards and manuscriptProvides mentorship and professional development opportunities for research staff and trainees, including the day to day operations for trainees such as Summer ScholarsParticipates and presents at internal and external seminars and conferencesIdentify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary careOther duties as assigned by the Principal InvestigatorsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Degree: Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., health sciences, health services or public policy) PhD preferred
Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible and related experience in research coordination and/or managementStrong health policy background and knowledge of Ontario health system and/or knowledge/understanding of other health systems/international evidenceHighly developed project management skills, with the ability to manage study timelines and supervise/manage preparation and submission of manuscripts to scientific journals and grant proposals for granting agenciesDemonstrated experience presenting research findings at invited meetings and conferences; academic publication experience preferredAbility to work independently and in a multidisciplinary and team environmentStrong oral, written and presentation skillsStrong computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, graphics and databasesDemonstrated professional behavior that is consistent with Sinai Health ValuesAdditional assets:
