Meat & Cheese Artisan Eataly Sherway Gardens

At Eataly, this role is referred to as a Salumi & Formaggi Artisan. The Artisanal Cheese and Salumi Department at Eataly is referred to as the Salumi and Formaggi (SAFO) Department and is home to more than 500+ of the highest quality cheeses and cured meats specially sourced from Italy, internationally and locally. Many of them are entirely exclusive to Eataly.

A Salumi & Formaggi Artisan prepares, packages, receives and stocks product. A Salumi & Formaggi Artisan has passion for cheese and meat, and the ability to share that passion with Eataly’s guests. Reports to the Store Operations Manager.

• Assists guests with cheese and meat selection and shares knowledge of products
• Weighs, labels and packages products and completes food preparation in a timely manner
• Ensures counter and display refrigerators neatly and accurately as per the pricing menu, and promptly informs management when food quantities or supplies are low
• Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per quality and First In First Out (FIFO) standards
• Cleans work station thoroughly
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

• Excellent communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Basic knife skills
• Knowledge of cheese highly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Requirements

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
• Ability to use commercial equipment including scales, packaging machinery and a cash register

Compensation for this role is CAD $18.00-$20.00 hourly.
