Security Guard - Mall

North York, Ontario

Part time

$19.50 to $20.00 per hour

Days/Afternoons;
Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• Access Control:
  Manage access for contractors and delivery personnel, including access control where applicable.
• Patrols:
  Conduct general and focused patrols (interior and exterior) looking for hazards, building deficiencies, insecure premises, criminal or prohibited activity, suspicious persons, activities, items, or vehicles.
• Emergency Response:
  Respond to a variety of “calls for service” and provide first‑responder services for all security and life‑safety emergencies.
• Incident Reporting:
  Document and report incidents accurately, ensuring all relevant details are captured for future reference and analysis.
• Professional Communication:
  Maintain clear, professional communication through email correspondence with team members and other stakeholders.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to security across all operations.
• Documentation and Record Keeping:
  Maintain accurate logs of incidents, inspections, and other relevant documentation for compliance and review.
• Monitoring and Surveillance:
  Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems to detect and prevent security breaches.

• Experience in critical environments where decision making and actions can impact life‑safety and business continuity.
• Excellent administrative and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and security management software.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• 2–3 years of experience working in corporate security.
• Must have a valid Ontario Security License.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
