Position: Tower Guard (UNIFOR TDC Security) - Contract 18 months
This opportunity is currently only available to bargaining unit members. If you are not a bargaining unit member, your application will not be forwarded to the hiring manager. Role Impact:
To deliver a consistent and superior level of customer service to clients by actively seeking out opportunities to provide assistance and support. To ensure that property rules and standards are observed by maintaining a highly visible and reassuring presence through their assigned patrol and post duties. To act as a deterrent to crime and undesired activity and help to maintain a visibly safe and welcoming property environment.
The successful candidate must be able to work shifts including weekends, nights, and evenings.
What you will deliver:
Ensure the protection of tenant employees, property and information through enforcement of access control and property removal processIdentify and deal with security exposure, violations, hazards and suspicious activities and report sameProvide after-hours lock up and morning open upRespond and have accountability for resolution of customer concerns/complaintsBe aware of the overall lobby presentation and report areas requiring attentionMaintain and enforce access control proceduresEnsure all relevant matters are brought to the attention of Security in an efficient manner without failConduct access control duties in respective tower assignment as requiredConduct fire watches and other area checks in respective tower assignment as requiredComplete other duties as assignedWhat your strengths are:
Service orientedStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsDetailed notebook taking and report writing abilityAbility to overcome adversity and handle stressful situations with tact and diplomacyAbility to function in a fast-paced environmentAbility to walk or stand for extended periods, some lifting up to poundsWhat you need to succeed:
Minimum one year general security experience preferredCurrent CPR and First Aid Certificates preferredDiploma in Security preferredSuccessful completion of annual Use of Force and CF compliance trainingWorking knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety ActMaintain safe working practices and will demonstrate same to co-workersBasic knowledge of emergency procedures and Standard Operating ProceduresMaintained and enforced access control proceduresComplete CF Serve and Secure program and recertification annuallyObtained and will maintain a valid Security Guard license and comply with PSISA and its regulations, as amended from time to timeWhy you should join us:
