Position: Full Time Patrol Guard

Averaging Agreement:
Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: Continental Days (0700 - 1900)

Payrate: $18.73/hour

Key responsibilities:

· Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.

· Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.

· Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.

· Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations

· Greeting and assisting visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

· De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.

· Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.

· Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.

· Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed.

· Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards

Prerequisites:

· Valid Security License for the province of Ontario

· Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider

· Covid Vaccine two doses

· Proof of up to date immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step Tuberculosis skin test

· Valid G class Driver's License

· Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training

· Vulnerable Sector Check

· English (oral and written) fluency is a must

· Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.

· Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

· Legally authorized to work in Canada
