You will have a direct impact on the Home Health Monitoring (HHM) product, which enables patients with severe chronic diseases or conditions to monitor health factors from the comfort of their homes and share this information electronically with health professionals.

Your role :

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full Stack Software Developer to join our team. Expertise in cloud‑native infrastructure and Ruby is essential, as well as working knowledge of modern Dev Ops/SRE tools and practices. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable backend systems within our complex architecture that power our applications.

TELUS Health is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to build solutions to enhance availability, performance, and stability of services as well as automating away repetitive work.

In this role, you will:

Infrastructure Management:

Handle day‑to‑day AWS platform operations using modern observability tools, such as Data Dog, Cloud Watch, etc.

Design and implement scalable cloud‑native architectures

Architect, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions

Manage production incidents by responding to alerts, troubleshooting system issues, leading root cause analyses, and ensuring follow‑through on post‑incident reviews.

Implement disaster recovery and capacity planning with Infrastructure as Code

Core Development:

Build and maintain backend systems using Ruby (Ruby on Rails) and Java, with focus on performance and scalability

Implement secure data solutions across MySQL, Postgre

SQL, or Mongo

DB databases

Ensure system integrity through proper authentication mechanisms

Quality and Documentation:

Maintain code quality through comprehensive testing and peer reviews

Document technical specifications for future maintenance

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (frontend, design, product) for solution delivery

Technical

Prerequisites:

Experience with AWS (preferred) or Google Cloud Platform

Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization

Qualifications

What you bring:

Degree in Engineering/Computer Science with 5+ years of backend development experience

AWS (preferred) or Google Cloud Platform experience

Expert‑level distributed systems architecture and monitoring

Jenkins or Github Actions for continuous integration

RESTful APIs integration expertise

Application clustering and load balancing

Security best practices for cloud infrastructure

Configuration management at scale

System telemetry for distributed architectures

Experience in high‑throughput web applications

Proven problem‑solving across solution stack

Experience in distributed team environments

Nice to Have:

Have experience in or be willing to learn data pipeline design in Apache Spark/AWS Glue, Apache Kafka/AWS kinesis

Salary Range:  $82,000-$124,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan:  12%
