A cutting‑edge AI startup with Silicon Valley roots is hiring a Director of Engineering in Toronto to help scale and lead the company’s Canadian engineering organization. Backed by $33M+ in funding, the company is building a new category of AI‑driven SaaS infrastructure that’s transforming the semiconductor industry – and this role is at the center of that growth.
As Director, you’ll spearhead the expansion of the Toronto site into a high‑performing engineering hub. You’ll lead technical direction, oversee delivery, shape culture, and mentor a world‑class team. This is a rare opportunity to lay the foundation of a category‑defining company while remaining close enough to the technology to guide design and architecture decisions.
What You’ll Do
Build and scale the Toronto office into a 20–30 person engineering organization across backend, frontend, ML/AI, data, and devtools.
Establish a strong, collaborative, and high‑performance culture aligned with the company’s technical vision.
Maintain technical credibility and participate in design discussions while focusing on organizational leadership.
Partner closely with the VP of Software and Silicon Valley leadership to ensure technical and product alignment across locations.
Coach, mentor, and grow engineers into senior technical leaders.
What We’re Looking For
Proven track record scaling and leading high‑performance engineering teams.
Experience hiring, mentoring, and building culture in fast‑paced environments.
Hands‑on background with modern backend, cloud, and AI/ML technologies.
Ability to balance strategic leadership with close engagement in design and technical decisions.
