Software Engineer, Backend

Door Dash is building the world's most reliable on-demand logistics engine for delivery! We're looking for experienced engineers to join our fast-growing engineering team to help develop a 24x7 global infrastructure system that powers Door Dash’s marketplace of consumers, merchants, and dashers.

Product engineers operate at the intersection of product and infrastructure to solve key business problems with elegant technical solutions. You will manage our backend services and architecture supporting all product functionalities, considering the big picture through cross-functional collaboration and trade-off evaluations to maximize business impact.

• Develop, deploy, and maintain large-scale web applications.
• Design and define backend architecture and technology stack for specific product areas.
• Enhance system performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Lead the transition from monolithic to microservice-based architecture.
• Tackle cutting-edge technical challenges to disrupt logistics.

• B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with backend technologies and systems.
• Ability to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture, REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design.
• Knowledge of modern web stacks (HTTP, REST).
• Proficiency with SQL and No
  
  SQL databases (e.g., Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Rabbit
  
  MQ).
• Nice-to-have: experience building large-scale, real-time applications, Java/Kotlin skills, open-source contributions.
