This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end‑to‑end go‑to‑market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

Marketplace enables software sellers to reach buyers on AWS and enables software buyers to easily discover, purchase and consume software. Our vision is to make AWS Marketplace a one‑stop shop for buying and selling software just like  is for retail.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of success delivering new features or products, strong knowledge of web services and protocols and an in‑depth knowledge of systems architectures. Experience with asynchronous workflow, big‑data, machine learning and AWS technologies is a plus.

• Own significant portions of the product and have a strong influence on strategy by defining the next wave of product features and system architecture.
• Work across all levels from front‑end user experience to robust back‑end APIs and services, solving complex distributed computing challenges.
• Mentor and serve as a role model for other engineers, driving quality software that raises operational excellence.
• Engage directly with customers (both buyers and sellers), meeting and interacting with them to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into the product roadmap.

By offering a curated catalog of offerings that buyers trust, along with seller data analytics, we enable sellers to manage and grow their business such that AWS MP becomes their primary channel of business.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one object‑oriented programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or leading an engineering team.

• Full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
