Senior Cloud Software Engineer - Python

As a Senior Cloud Engineer specializing in Python, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based infrastructure for VXG's innovative video surveillance solutions. Responsibilities include developing scalable backend systems, managing cloud deployments, and optimizing system performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and ensure robust, reliable cloud services. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON.

• Proficiency in Software Development with expertise in Python and experience in agile development processes.
• Strong background in Infrastructure management and Cloud Computing, including experience with cloud architecture and deployment.
• Proficient knowledge of Linux operating systems and hands‑on experience with server management.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and create scalable, performance‑oriented solutions in cloud environments.
• Deep knowledge of Python, Tornado, Django
• Knowledge of SQL
• Experience with git
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of network protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, TLS)
• Experience with AWS: EC2, Auto Scaling, Cloud Watch, RDS, S3, Cloud Formation.
• Experience with K8S.
• Experience with setup of infrastructure monitoring tools (Prometheus, Zabbix).
• Experience in administrating log aggregation tools (ELK, EFK).
• Knowledge of build tools: GNU make, meson, autotools, scons, gradle.
• Experience with FFmpeg and GStreamer and video data processing.
• Experience in video surveillance or a related industry is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
