As Engineering Manager, you will guide a skilled team building services, applications, databases, and APIs for Tucows Domains platforms. You will balance technical leadership with delivery ownership, production support, and engineer development. Collaboration spans Product, Operations, QA, Design, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop engineers through feedback and career support
Own planning, prioritization, delivery, releases, and blocker resolution
Guide architecture, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production contributions
Oversee services, APIs, databases, integrations, reliability, and security
Lead incidents, root cause analysis, testing, and CI/CD improvements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field
Six-plus years' software engineering experience in backend development
Two-plus years' engineering management with direct people management
Strong Python, Go, RESTful API, and PostgreSQL experience
Experience operating scalable systems and supporting production incidents
Bring technical judgment, people leadership, and backend expertise to strengthen Tucows Domains engineering delivery across Canada.
