Bar Barista

Bar Barista at ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services

We’re recruiting a driven Bar Barista to create beautifully crafted drinks for Defence on a part‑time basis, contracted to 23 hours per week. This role is contracted to 50.2 weeks per year and will involve shift patterns of 5 out of 7 days.

• Prepare perfectly blended drinks and serve high‑quality food that delights customers
• Keep the bar area clean and maintain a tidy workspace
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Be an enthusiastic team player and excellent communicator
• Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
• Learn about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation and presentation techniques
• Check that brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Represent Defence and maintain a positive brand image
• Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships quickly
• Previous experience in customer service
• A drive for excellence and a motivated, eager attitude
• Ability to take initiative and make decisions that benefit our customers
• Hands‑on experience with brewing equipment
• Capacity to work under pressure
• Exceptional time‑keeping and reliability
