Join the Paediatric Sister/Charge Nurse - Emergency Department role at Buy A Boat Now as a Band 6 paediatric nurse to work flexibly on a part-time permanent contract in our new dedicated Children’s Emergency Department.

Our new dedicated Children’s Emergency Department is seeking a motivated, committed and dynamic paediatric nurse to provide leadership, clinical oversight, teaching and mentoring in a fast-paced environment.

• Ensure all staff in the department are provided with and deliver mentoring, supervision and teaching of new and junior nursing team members.
• Organise and manage resources to deliver emergency health care to patients aged 0‑18 years old.
• Work as part of the multi‑disciplinary team to coordinate and flow patients safely and efficiently to meet government emergency care targets.
• Undertake supervision, mentorship and, where appropriate, teach registered and non‑registered nursing staff.
• Promote and uphold the highest achievable standard of emergency care.
• Participate in a supernumerary induction programme and ongoing professional development, supported by a Paediatric Practice Educator.

• Band 6 paediatric nursing qualification.
• Substantial experience working in an emergency department with a proactive, evidence‑based approach to care.
• Strong mentoring, supervision and teaching skills.
• Ability to manage resources and coordinate care within a high‑volume environment.

Our emergency department assesses, treats and either admits or discharges over 25,000 paediatric patients per year, with an admission rate of 10‑30 patients per day. You will work within a multi‑disciplinary team, partnering with the Nurse Team Manager and a senior paediatric Band 7 nurse.
