Job Summary
Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist
, Totnes Community Hospital and Ashburton Health and Wellbeing Centre, part‑time and full‑time hours, Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job- Provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to people presenting at musculoskeletal outpatient clinics.
- Act as a source of expertise on assessment and management of general MSK patients, supporting other healthcare professionals.
- Educate and train physiotherapists, students and other staff in physio therapeutic management of general MSK conditions.
- Offer rehabilitation classes, acupuncture, steroid injections and 1:1 treatment within the MSK service.
- Maintain close multidisciplinary team links.
- Diploma or degree in physiotherapy.
- State registration – current HCPC certificate.
- Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio.
- Experience with in the NHS as a Band 5 physiotherapist in musculoskeletal settings.
- Previous MSK experience equivalent to NHS Band 5/6.
- Advanced working knowledge of a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions.
- Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team and multidisciplinary team.
- Clinical skills encompassing exercise therapy, pain relief, mobility training and therapeutic handling.
- Sound assessment skills with clinical reasoning and analytical ability.
- Proven ability of complex case management.
- Knowledge of relevant NSFs and clinical guidelines.
- Competent IT skills.
- Ability to maintain judgment under pressure.
- Qualification in acupuncture.
- Postgraduate qualification in relevant MSK skills (e.g., MACP, Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, Pilates, strength and conditioning).
- Band 6 experience within a musculoskeletal setting in the NHS.
- Training in staff appraisal.
- Presentation skills.
- Clinical educator course.
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit.

- Salary:
Pro‑rated per annum depending on experience. - Contract:
Permanent. - Working pattern:
