Job description
Job responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical haematology care (inpatient, outpatient, day case).
Offer expert advice on haematology results and transfusion.
Review blood films.
Participate in clinical governance and share in a 1 in 4 on-call rota (with Southampton colleagues).
Contribute to teaching, training, research, and the ongoing development of our specialist services and blood transfusion practices.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
Full registration and licence to practice with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register in Haematology (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).
Applicants that are UK trained must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
Applicants that are non-UK trained will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
Desirable
MRCPCH or evidence of equivalent qualification.
Evidence of a special interest that complements those of other consultants in the department.
