Main duties of the job

We are part of a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall’s most excluded and disadvantaged people. Successful candidates will work as part of the adult community team, alongside in‑house services which include outreach, hospital, clinical, criminal justice and a residential rehabilitation facility.

About the role

Our Recovery Workers play a vital role in supporting clients to identify their goals, ambitions and passions. You will work with them to create the best treatment plan for their needs and guide them on their path to recovery. You will provide continuity of care through partnership working, care coordination, key responsibilities and intervention delivery. You will manage an active caseload, connecting quickly with clients and ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity.

Salary starts at £25,000 p.a. and rises to £30,000 p.a. in line with our pay progression bands.

Job responsibilities

• Provide continuity of care and partnership working with a diverse client group.
• Identify and support client goals, ambitions and passions.
• Create and review personalised treatment plans.
• Manage an active caseload and respond to client needs promptly.
• Work collaboratively with in‑house services, including outreach, hospital, clinical, criminal justice and residential rehabilitation.
• Deliver interventions and support clients in a respectful and dignified manner.

Qualifications and experience

• Have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months.
• Have demonstrable experience of working or volunteering in health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting.
• Successful track record of working or volunteering with people who have experienced substance misuse issues.
• Have a driving licence with access to a vehicle and be able to maintain business‑use insurance.
• Strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Effective team player, supporting others when needed.
• Resilient under pressure and able to prioritise work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• IT competent.
• Flexible with working hours on occasion and willing to support other With You locations if required.
• Willingness to work occasional Saturdays.
