Brake Press Operators

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Skilled Trades Specialists is seeking Brake Press Operators for a local Fabrication Shop.

• Set up and operate machines to bend, form, cut and shape metal sheets according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operations.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired results.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Previous experience operating brake press/plasma/shear or similar equipment in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with stamping press operations and the use of calipers, micrometers, milling machines, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
• Experience with programming press brake machines is a plus.
• Ability to use hand tools and operate overhead cranes for material handling.
• Familiarity with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines is preferred but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
