A growing European space engineering organisation is seeking a  Senior Small Satellite Systems Engineer  to join its Systems Unit. The company designs, develops, integrates, and qualifies high-performance small satellite platforms and related space technologies. The role offers hands-on involvement in challenging satellite missions and a collaborative, innovative work environment.

Role Overview
You will take technical responsibility for system-level activities across small satellite projects. This includes coordination with program managers, subsystem engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful design, development, and qualification of spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities
Lead system engineering activities for small satellite missions
Generate and manage system engineering plans, design and development plans, and verification plans
Define and manage technical requirements and specifications
Prepare technical documentation for internal and customer reviews
Review technical documentation for systems and subsystems
Support Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT), Assembly, Integration & Verification (AIV), and qualification activities
Coordinate with multidisciplinary and international teams on day-to-day project execution

Requirements
Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering
5+ years’ experience in small satellite system design, development, and qualification
Hands-on, proactive approach and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Strong understanding of satellite architecture and design principles
Experience managing industrial activities, including technical reviews
Knowledge of aerospace system standards (ECSS, MIL, NASA STD)
Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages an advantage)

Desirable Skills
Familiarity with ground segment operations

Experience with requirements management tools
Previous work with international or multidisciplinary teams
