Permanent, 0.5 FTE (18 hours per week)
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will collaborate with our senior technician to support the daily operations of our theatre and studio spaces. This role involves providing technical support for staff and student productions, as well as assisting students and lecturers in the Creative Production Modules while ensuring the safe use of power tools. Additionally, the position includes basic scenic construction and carpentry, along with assistance in prop‑making tasks.
Applicants must have rigging experience and be proficient in lighting and sound design, including programming using industry‑standard software and equipment. The candidate will also be responsible for managing the transportation of shows to external venues during the festival and showcases, leading load‑ins and load‑outs, and coordinating with external venues to gather the technical information necessary for creating effective lighting designs.
Qualifications- Rigging experience
- Proficiency in lighting and sound design, programming with industry‑standard software and equipment
- Experience managing transportation of productions to external venues
- Ability to lead load‑ins and load‑outs, and coordinate with external venues for technical data
- Eligibility to work in the UK under the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006 (visa sponsorship licence available but not guaranteed)
