Legal trustee for Adventure Playground – Volunteer

Join Marble Hill Playcentres as a volunteer legal trustee. We need a trustee with a legal background to help strengthen our governance and support the charity’s long‑term sustainability.

The Playcentres serve many inactive children, providing a source of physical activity, autonomy, and enjoyment of the outdoors. Good governance and sound decisions are essential to secure the Playcentres for the future. As a trustee, you will influence the direction of this high‑profile charity and gain valuable experience through wider decisions and actions.

• Attend monthly board meetings in Twickenham and contribute to the planning and decision‑making process.
• Support site improvements, new services, and new partnerships, including fundraising activities.
• Bring your legal knowledge, especially around contracts, to advise on governance matters.
• Work with the team to protect and steward the Playcentres for future generations of children and families.

• Legal knowledge and experience – either as a lawyer or in a law‑related role, familiar with contracts.
• A commitment to Marble Hill Playcentres and its beneficiaries.
• A willingness to devote necessary time and effort – 5–10 hours per month to attend meetings and undertake specific initiatives.
• Good, independent judgement and an ability to plan and problem‑solve.
• An ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
• A willingness to contribute to topics beyond your immediate area of interest.
• A commitment to Nolan’s seven principles of public life: self‑lessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.

Previous board or trustee experience is not required. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and ages.
