Location: Isle of Man

Our client is seeking a skilled Client Accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities. This role involves clearing a backlog of outstanding bookkeeping tasks, ensuring timely production of accounts and tax returns, and maintaining compliance with relevant deadlines. The successful candidate will prepare VAT and Tax returns while managing bank accounts where applicable. Additionally, this role includes assisting in setting up audit files and liaising with both clients and the Client Services Team to keep records updated.

Furthermore, the Client Accountant will ensure that all financial statements are produced within statutory periods, support effective control over work in progress (WIP), billing, and debt management, and uphold a high level of technical support to the team.

Job Duties
  • Clear backlog of outstanding bookkeeping and accounts production.
  • Ensure timely handling of bookkeeping, accounting, and tax-related matters within the portfolio.
  • Prepare VAT and Tax returns while adhering to submission deadlines.
  • Manage and control bank accounts as appropriate.
  • Assist in setting up audit files and liaise with auditors when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Client Services Team to maintain up-to-date client records.
  • Communicate with clients regarding relevant matters.
  • Produce financial statements within the required statutory periods.
  • Support the maintenance of active control over WIP, billing, and debtor management.
  • Provide high levels of technical support and focus on best practices.
  • Foster a culture of awareness and efficiency within the team.
  • Highlight and report significant matters requiring attention to management.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Complete ad-hoc projects as delegated within specified timelines.
  • Keep company directors and trustees informed on relevant issues.
  • Assist the wider team as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with the Financial Services Rule Book and other regulations.
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
  • Strong understanding of VAT and tax regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations including AML/CFT/ABC and Data Protection.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
