Quantity Surveyor; AQS, QS or SQS

Job Title:
Assistant QS, QS & Senior QS

Summary:

This client are a well established contractor with an excellent reputation in the commercial build sector. Due to continuous growth there are currently opportunities in Swindon for Quantity Surveyors from Assistant through to Senior levels. These positions require a strong understanding of construction methods and materials, as well as experience in high quality projects, there will also be the requirement for some Project management within the more senior roles.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including the cost of materials, labor, and equipment

• Review and analyse construction drawings and specifications to identify potential cost risks

• Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids

• Negotiate and award contracts with subcontractors

• Administer contracts, including monitoring project costs, issuing payment certificates, and resolving disputes

• Provide expert advice to clients on all aspects of quantity surveying (mid - senior level)

• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices

Qualifications:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred).

• Preferably be on the RICS pathway or hold MRICS.

• 4+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably with some experience working for a consultancy/PQS but we are open to contractor backgrounds.

• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.

• Experience in managing tendering and contract administration processes.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Basic Salary at 32- 40k (AQS), 40-60k (QS) 60-80k SQS (open to discussion for more senior candidates).
