Freelance Intermediate​/Senior Quantity Surveyor

Future Build Recruitment are working with a well-established civil engineering specialist who is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. A strong civils background is essential, and experience in the water utilities sector is highly advantageous.

• Take full commercial responsibility for allocated projects, including monthly reporting.
• Manage and mentor junior commercial team members.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and the supply chain, including standard rate agreements.
• Prepare and submit accurate valuations, supported by site visits where required.
• Follow up on payments, keeping senior management informed of any issues.
• Price and agree project variations with clients and subcontractors, maintaining accurate records.
• Prepare contractual notices and administer subcontract conditions in line with company procedures.
• Ensure timely and fair resolution of client and subcontractor final accounts.
• Maintain organised commercial files, both electronic and hard copy.
• Support pre-construction activities alongside the bid and contracts teams.

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in a civils environment.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and contractual management principles.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience in water utilities desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior team members effectively.
