P McVey is seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Estimator to join our growing team. The Estimator will be responsible for submitting completed bids on time and ensuring the highest level of detail and quality in the bidding process. You will play a key role in positioning P McVey Building Systems for success in securing projects and bringing them to construction. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to cost estimation, as well as the ability to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality.

• Thoroughly evaluate all aspects of project budgets, including labour, materials, equipment, overheads, and potential contingencies.
• Provide detailed take‑offs for materials, labour, and preliminaries for the tenders and contracts team.
• Monitor market prices to ensure cost competitiveness and adjust project cost structures as needed.
• Compile all necessary cost data, specifications, and timelines for bid proposals, ensuring competitive pricing and profitability.
• Identify and propose cost‑saving opportunities, including alternative construction techniques or materials.
• Assist with tender adjudication and pre‑start meetings with the contracts team.
• Attend tender site visits to ensure accurate assessments of project requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary tender information and support project delivery.

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry or similar field.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and cost structures.
• Ability to interpret project drawings, specifications, and other construction documentation.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
