This role is a new role within the department of Neurology & Stroke; the appointed candidate(s) will join an existing team of 14 senior medical staff including Consultants & SAS doctors. On joining the department, you will become part of a well-established, friendly team and will help us continue to drive forward improvements in the service that we provide to our patients.
As a senior member of the team, you will become a key part in the delivery of training and supervision to our junior colleagues. This 18-month fixed term post will work closely with a team of Consultant Neurologists and Clinical Nurse specialists, the post holder will be expected to initiate and provide sound clinical/medical practices to patients under the care of the Neurology team, mostly in outpatient clinics but also if they admitted under other general medical teams. The post will also include clinical involvement in the acute stroke service.
Mainduties of the job
The Duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.
Clinical Duties- Patient assessment both in clinic and when reviewing ward-referrals
- Drug prescription in clinic, for ward patients
- Undertake patient reviews for other in-patient teams
- Trouble shoot patients on the ward
- Participate in ward rounds with the Consultants
