Senior Structural Engineer

We are working with an established and forward-thinking structural engineering practice that is seeking a talented and collaborative Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing Manchester studio. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is passionate about sustainable design and wants to make a positive impact on the built environment.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will work across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, education, commercial, development and regeneration schemes. You will collaborate closely with high-profile private and public-sector clients, contributing both technically and strategically to project delivery.

You will play a key role in leading and developing a team of engineers and technicians, supporting their growth while strengthening your own leadership, commercial and business development skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural engineering design across multiple sectors
• Preparation, checking and approval of drawings and calculations
• Briefing and mentoring engineers and technicians
• Attending project team and client meetings
• Site visits for inspections, surveys and construction support
• Producing technical reports and specifications
• Project resource planning and deadline management
• Internal design reviews and technical critiques
• Assisting Directors with project and practice delivery

About You

• Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStruct
  
  E or MICE)
• Strong technical background with broad sector experience
• Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with clients and stakeholders
• Passionate about sustainable, high-quality design
• A collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others
• Organised, commercially aware and able to manage competing priorities
