Quality Engineer - Nuclear Enrichment Facility (North West)
Rate: £60-£65 per hour (Umbrella PAYE)
Working Pattern: 3 days on-site / 2 days remote
Start: ASAP (subject to security clearances)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement activities at a major Nuclear Enrichment Facility in the North West. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in the nuclear sector or other highly regulated environments, with strong technical understanding of quality systems, standards, and assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the site's Quality Management System in line with nuclear regulatory requirements.
* Assist with internal and external audit programmes, supplier quality assurance, and compliance reporting.
* Manage NCRs, support root cause analysis, and drive effective CAPA actions.
* Provide quality input into design reviews, technical assessments, and project documentation.
* Conduct inspections, verification activities, and compliance checks across engineering and site operations.
* Prepare quality documentation, including ITPs, quality plans, and audit reports.
* Engage with engineering teams, project managers, and suppliers to ensure alignment with quality standards.
* Support the development of continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma tools and techniques.
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within nuclear, defence, aerospace, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated sectors.
* Solid working knowledge of quality standards, regulatory frameworks, and compliance processes.
* Experience supporting QMS activities, audits, NCR management, and quality investigations.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
* Eligible to obtain UK security clearance (SC or higher).
* Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience with in the nuclear industry or other safety-critical, high-hazard environments.
* Lean Six Sigma or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt desirable).
* Local to the North West or within a commutable distance.
* Experience with supplier quality and assurance of complex supply chains.
Additional Information
* Hybrid working: 3 days per week required on-site, 2 days remote.
* Opportunity to work on a nationally significant, high-security project.
