- Designing shallow and piled foundations, retaining structures, soil nails, and earthworks
- Tackling complex ground conditions such as soft ground, slope instability, mine workings, and marginal materials
- Supervising ground investigations and providing site-based technical support when required
- Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary design teams
- Representing the business at client meetings and technical design discussions
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards including EC7, British Standards, CDM, and H&S requirements
What we're looking for
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology (or equivalent)
- Progress toward professional chartership (ICE, Geological Society, or similar); MSc or PhD advantageous
- Full UK driving licence
- Proven experience within a design consultancy environment
- Strong geotechnical design background covering foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, and slope stability
- Good understanding of UK ground conditions and investigation practices
- Experience using geotechnical design software (GEO5 desirable)
- Strong technical reporting and communication skills
- A collaborative, solution-oriented approach
- PTS certification desirable but not essential
- Willingness to travel occasionally for short-term UK site work
