Automation Engineer - Felinfach

Are you passionate about automation and looking to make an impact in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment?

As an Automation Engineer, you’ll be central to ensuring our automation equipment operates at the highest standards. You’ll support both day-to-day maintenance and long-term projects, working closely with colleagues and external contractors to keep our processes efficient and reliable.

• Maintain and develop site automation systems (hardware/software, SCADA, PLC, Variable Speed Drives, instrumentation, electrical control gear).
• Provide first-line support for automation-related issues and breakdowns.
• Support capital projects with control and automation expertise.
• Implement and close out preventive maintenance work orders.
• Ensure accurate records, backups, and compliance with Health & Safety requirements.

You’ll be part of the engineering department, collaborating with Process Maintenance Engineers and contractors to deliver safe, effective automation solutions.

We’re looking for someone with strong technical expertise and a proactive mindset.

• HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent in electrical, instrumentation, automation discipline.
• Time-served apprenticeship in an industrial environment.
• At least 5 years’ industry experience (dairy experience preferred).
• Skilled in Automation / PLC / SCADA (particularly Siemens).
• Experience in project management.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and contractors.
• A commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
