Our client is an independent mortgage team based on the island, experiencing a significant influx of referrals from both existing customers and industry peers. To accommodate this growth, they are looking to expand their team by recruiting a skilled Mortgage Advisor. This is a full‑time position with working hours from Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 5:30 pm, and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Reporting directly to the Mortgage Manager, the successful candidate will join a well‑established and experienced team. A background in mortgages is essential, and candidates should ideally hold a CeMAP qualification or an equivalent. Experience with local lenders will be advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive training on mortgage products from various lenders will be provided. The ideal candidate will possess a friendly and personable demeanour, showcasing the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while also being capable of independent work.
Exceptional organisational skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service are critical in this role, with regular interactions with clients both face to face and over the phone.
- Provide mortgage advice to clients both face to face, via email, and by telephone
- Process and submit mortgage applications
- Liaise with team members, providing support and assistance as required
- Offer advice on life assurance, critical illness cover, and health protection products
- Process and submit insurance applications
- Contribute to team discussions on business development, new processes, and company updates
- Deliver a high level of customer service in all communications
- Utilise computer systems such as Word, Excel, Access, and online quoting systems
- Prior experience in the mortgage sector
- Ideally qualified to CeMAP level or equivalent
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self‑motivated
- Strong organisational skills
- Comfortable with face‑to‑face interactions as well as telephone communications
