Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality management accounting and financial insight to support decision‑making across the business.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet commentary, and supporting schedules.
  • Deliver accurate and timely variance analysis against budget and forecast, with clear explanations of performance drivers.
  • Produce concise and insightful reporting for internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and support annual budget preparation process.
  • Support regular reforecasting and rolling forecast processes.
  • Challenge assumptions and improve the quality and robustness of budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze cost and revenue trends, identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Support development of financial models and scenario analysis where required.
  • Contribute to performance reporting and KPI development.
  • Provide financial support and insight to operational teams.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and reconciliation processes.
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes, reporting and systems.
  • Assist with audit and year‑end activities as required.
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience of budget preparation and forecasting; highly proficient in variance analysis and performance reporting.
  • Experience providing financial insight to non‑finance stakeholders, supporting operational and commercial decision‑making.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
  • Strong understanding of management accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Substantial hands‑on experience in a management accounting role, with end‑to‑end responsibility for month‑end processes.
  • Experience contributing to process improvement, systems development or reporting enhancements.
  • Commercially aware, curious, and solutions‑focused, with the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Proactive and well‑organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships across the business.

  • Hours of work: 40 hours per week;
    Monday‑Friday, 08:30‑17:00 with 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
