Personal Tax Manager / Private Client Tax Manager | 55-65K per annum
The Opportunity
We are a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes, looking to appoint an experienced Personal Tax Manager to lead and develop a growing private client tax portfolio. This role is ideal for a technically strong tax professional with hands-on experience across Inheritance Tax, trusts, estates, and private client advisory, who is looking for autonomy, progression, and long-term career development.
This is a full-time position offering flexible working hours and hybrid working within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of private clients, including HNWIs, trusts, and estates
* Preparation and review of personal tax returns
* Advising on Inheritance Tax planning, trusts, and estate planning matters
* Supporting and advising clients on capital gains tax and other personal tax issues
* Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships
* Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing technical guidance
* Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
* Supporting partners with advisory and planning work
* Keeping up to date with changes in UK tax legislation and best practice
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience working within personal / private client tax in an accountancy practice
* Strong technical knowledge of Inheritance Tax, trusts, estates, and CGT
* Experience managing a client portfolio independently
* Ability to provide advisory support beyond compliance
* ATT qualified and/or ACCA / ACA qualified (essential)
* Strong communication skills with a confident, client-facing approach
* Ability to mentor and support junior staff
