SALT Assistant; Temporary

Position: SALT Assistant (Temporary)
Location: Dundry

Teacher Active is looking for a Speech and Language Therapist Assistant (SALT) to support pupils with speech, language, and communication needs in a stimulating, inclusive SEND setting. This temporary role gives you the chance to work closely with a Speech and Language Therapist, delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions, adapting resources, tracking progress, and supporting children’s communication and social skills.

The successful Speech and Language Therapist Assistant will:

Provide 1:1 and group support under the guidance of a SALT

Adapt activities, visual aids, and therapy materials to support inclusive learning

Track pupil progress and contribute to support plans alongside the Speech and Language Therapist

Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families

Qualifications and Skills:

GCSE Maths and English grade 4 or above (or equivalent)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Energetic, enthusiastic, and a strong team player

Able to relate positively to students, staff, and parents from a variety of ages, abilities, and backgrounds
