Pharmacy Technician

The pharmacy technician will act within their professional boundaries, working alongside our clinical pharmacist, clinical team within the practice and the wider Blackbourne PCN. Other duties will include:

• Support practice dispensary team in sorting and streaming general prescription requests and queries
• Handle prescription queries and requests directly
• Assist in the delivery of medicines optimisation and management incentive schemes and patient safety audits
• Support medication reviews and medicines reconciliation for new care home patients
• Implementation of national prescribing policies and guidance
• Ensure efficient medicines optimisation, including implementing efficient ordering and return processes, and reducing wastage
• Accurate and timely summarising of patient records and read-coding patient data
• Ensure that all practice policies are fully implemented
• Support public health and screening programmes including immunisations and vaccination programmes

• Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC
• Diploma Level 3 in pharmacy services, or equivalent
• Strong experience in either a community pharmacy or a primary care setting desirable
• Confident in analysing and presenting information to health professionals
