Set in a semi-rural location in Hook, Hampshire, Priory Hospital Mildmay Oaks supports the NHS by providing low secure services and level 2 rehabilitation services for both male and female patients. This includes a specialist learning disability and autism spectrum support.
Main duties of the job- Manage and coordinate the implementation of individual treatment plans for speech and language therapy services, ensuring treatments, activities, and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication.
- Receive and respond promptly to referrals, undertaking assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions on an individual or group basis. Maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patients rehabilitation/progress.
- Ensure the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.
- Maintain and develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice aligns with Priory policies and procedures.

All roles are subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland. Priory will cover the cost of a DBS check.
Job responsibilitiesMildmay Oaks are looking for a Speech & Language Therapist to join the team on a part-time basis, working 22.5 hours per week.
Person Specification Requirements- The role requires a relevant degree and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), along with a postgraduate qualification awarded by the RCSLT. The successful candidate should also have relevant experience, including some within the specialised area.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
