Job Title:
Motor Claims Handler – Job Description
Location:
Dunstable, Bedfordshire
Hours:
9am – 5pm
This role involves providing first-line support for motor claims, managing the full claims process for vehicle accidents, and acting as a key communication point between insurers, third parties and drivers.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, review and process accident claim forms and supporting documentation.
- Investigate accident circumstances to determine liability.
- Manage first notification of loss (FNOL) and oversee both fault and non-fault claims through to completion.
- Raise invoices for non-fault claims and process payments for accepted liability on fault claims.
- Maintain daily communication with insurers, solicitors and internal teams regarding ongoing cases.
- Oversee claims involving intervention services and liaise with relevant suppliers.
- Arrange independent damage assessments for insurance purposes.
- Input and maintain accurate claims information on internal systems.
- Liaise with multiple sites to obtain outstanding accident forms, photographs and any required documents.
- Negotiate claim settlement figures to achieve the best possible outcome.
- Compile and present regular claims reports for management review (e.g., weekly accident summaries).
- Respond to calls from drivers regarding accidents, claims progress and potential excess charges.
- Operate the 24-hour accident line during office hours.
- Manage and respond to written correspondence relating to road traffic accident claims.
- Cert CII qualification (or working towards it) preferred.
- Previous experience in motor claims handling is desirable.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
