Assistant Buyer

An Exciting Opportunity to Join Our Dynamic Purchasing Team!

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to join our fast-paced Purchasing Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing and scheduling a defined supplier base, predominantly supplying components used in general assembly. This role is ideal for someone with strong supply chain experience and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage supply chain deliveries in line with ERP requirements
• Execute MRP, KANBAN, and JIT ordering strategies
• Maintain and manage the order book to ensure accuracy and on-time deliveries
• Monitor and manage negative stock reports
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential shortages
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery and missing part issues efficiently
• Drive and improve OTIF (On Time In Full) performance across your supplier base
• Maintain accurate and appropriate ordering parameters within the system
• Resolve invoice queries with internal and external stakeholders

• Experience working with ERP systems and an understanding of how they integrate with operations
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production environments
• Excellent planning and communication skills
• A solid understanding of project and production planning
• Proven ability in planning and scheduling within a fast-moving supply chain environment

Desirable Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (preferred but not essential)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
