We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site General Building Engineer in HMP Ranby
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week across 7 days, with a 1 in 4 weekend rota and a 15% additional allowance.
At Amey, we support our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), by providing safe, clean and efficient prisons in 60 secure premises across England and Wales.
What You Will Do- Ensure availability of critical parts for statutory tasks and manage remedial tasks in the CAFM system.
- Perform general and semi‑skilled maintenance activities, including security systems such as CCTV and alarms.
- Conduct monthly checks and tests of fire extinguisher equipment, fire hydrants and hoses.
- Complete quarterly RCD testing and inspect misting units.
- Maintain fire doors and perform flushing and tap‑temperature tests as per water risk assessments.
- Undertake monthly and annual emergency lighting checks.
- Check and test smoke vents as required.
- Carry out any other duties as required.
- Experience in multiple maintenance areas: fire, door maintenance, extinguisher maintenance, alarm core points.
- Emergency lighting knowledge.
- RCD experience.
- Water temperature testing skills.
- Basic IT skills.
