School Janitor – Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services provides professional cleaning and hygiene services across schools and other institutions.

Location: Barassie Primary School, Burnfoot Avenue, Troon, South Ayrshire, Scotland, KA106RQ

Contract: Permanent

Type of Employment: Full Time

Hours: 37 hours per week

Rate of Pay: £12.81 per hour

• Undertake all required training and follow Mitie's Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
• Maintain equipment in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used.
• Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
• Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
• Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.

• Previous caretaking experience (preferred but not essential).
• Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Open, honest, self‑driven, and determined.
• Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality, with willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
