Job Description:
A well-established, family-run business providing environmental, transport, recycling, and aggregate services across South Wales and beyond. With a reputation for reliability, safety, and quality, our client is expanding their operations and are now looking for an experienced HGV Workshop Supervisor to join their team based in Cwmgwili.
Sunny are looking for a hands-on and organised leader to manage the daily operations of our client's busy HGV maintenance workshop. The Supervisor will lead a small team of skilled mechanics, ensuring that all fleet vehicles are maintained efficiently, safely, and in strict adherence to DVSA standards.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently supervise daily workshop activities, effectively allocating work and managing workflow for the team.
- Execute routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance strategies, along with essential repairs, across the fleet of HGVs, trailers, and plant machinery.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate service records and compliance documentation, ensuring full adherence to Operator Licence and DVSA requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with management, providing updates on maintenance schedules and minimizing vehicle downtime.
- Support, mentor, and motivate the workshop staff, fostering a highly skilled and productive team environment.
- Uphold and enforce all health & safety and environmental policies within the workshop at all times.
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities to enhance workshop processes, efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
- Proven experience in an HGV workshop or similar environment.
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of HGV systems, diagnostics, and DVSA regulations.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable).
