Commercial Manager

Commercial Manager Surrey Up to £100,000  Car allowance (£5,800)  10% performance bonus We are seeking a Commercial Manager to lead and manage the commercial team on a major highways maintenance contract, ensuring optimal performance and continuous development. Duties Provide monthly reports to the Operations team and Senior Management team. Ensure all commercial processes for the contract are fit for purpose, efficient, and compliant with company policies and procedures.

Manage the performance and development of the commercial team, inspiring positive staff morale and accountability. Oversee contract management with supply chain partners, ensuring clear and manageable agreements. Lead the team in developing accurate works estimates. Support final accounting with the client and supply chain partners. Ensure commercial management and reporting are correctly implemented in conjunction with operational and contract managers.

Monitor budgets, ensure financial certainty, and challenge operational teams on monthly results. Understand and apply tender structures and strategies. Identify and notify Early Warnings and Compensation Events, maintaining the relevant registers and logs. Support divisional leadership in developing and maintaining the contract Risk and Opportunity Register. Produce management reports for senior leadership meetings. Person Specification Full UK driving licence. Minimum of 10 years experience in a commercial role, with at least 2 years in management.

Experience in highways maintenance or a related civil engineering field. Proven experience managing overall contract performance.
