Location: Sand Hole
Engineering Manager
Based in Spaldington, between York and Hull this position is for a hands on, multi skilled Engineering Manager within a very fast moving food environment.
The business operates 365 days a year and you will be managing a team of 4. The factory opens at 0600 and closes at 1800, 7 days a week and your team will be working across all shifts.
A family run business with a very stable SLT, they run approx. 130 permanent employees.
Engineering work on mainly bespoke equipment ensuring planned and preventative maintenance as the main focus of the workload.
Your team consists of a mechanical specialist, electrical, PPM as well as a Junior.
The role of Engineering manager, your job, is to make sure the factory plant and equipment is available, maintained and in good working order to be able produce the output that it is required of it. Whilst also looking continuously for improvement capabilities.
You will be managing the maintenance schedules and your team. Around 65% of your day will be hands on, fixing break downs as well as looking at the efficiency and output of the machines. Having come from a similar role, you will need to have work experience in a similar FMCG/ food production environment.
You will be responsible for the following:
• Ensuring the shifts run as efficiently as possible
• Paperwork and record keeping is completed by all on time
• Working congruently as a team with the rest of the business
• Involvement in NDP
• Provide first time fixes with auditable trails for compliance purpose with a Food HSE standard, primary focus
With a problem solving and fault finding bias, coupled with qualifications equalling at least 17th edition and relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering. As part of the management this is an unusual and unique, strong business.
