We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our dedicated Gynaecology team at the Princess Royal Hospital. In this 23‑hour post you will primarily work on the Gynaecology Ward, providing high‑quality nursing care to patients admitted for elective procedures as well as those presenting with acute gynaecological emergencies. You will also support activity within the Gynaecology Outpatient Department, assisting in specialist clinics such as hysteroscopy, colposcopy, and general gynaecology.
Responsibilities- Provide compassionate, evidence‑based nursing care to women in the Gynaecology Ward, including pre‑ and post‑operative care, post‑anaesthetic monitoring, and management of acute gynaecological conditions.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans, ensuring safe and effective delivery of evidence‑based practice.
- Support patients undergoing elective gynaecology surgery, including pre‑operative assessment, preparation, pain management, and discharge planning.
- Deliver timely care to patients with acute gynaecological conditions, working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
- Work collaboratively with medical staff, specialist nurses, healthcare assistants, and allied health professionals to provide seamless patient care and maintain excellent communication.
- Assist in gynaecology outpatient clinics, including hysteroscopy, colposcopy, and general gynaecology procedures, ensuring safe patient flow and maintaining a supportive clinical environment.
- Promote smooth clinic flow and contribute to an efficient, supportive outpatient environment.
- NMC registered.
- Experience in a nursing role, preferably within a gynaecology or acute care setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
