We’re seeking a Trainee Agronomist to join our farming team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work hands‑on with growers and specialists, learning how to optimise crop health, yield, and quality while supporting environmentally responsible farming practices.

The Role
  • Assisting agronomy team with crop monitoring across a range of salad crops.
  • Collecting and analysing crop, soil, and pest data to support agronomic decision‑making.
  • Helping to deliver integrated pest and disease management programmes.
  • Supporting trials on new varieties, nutrition programmes, and sustainable growing methods.
  • Building relationships with growers, packhouses, and technical suppliers.
  • Organic IPM Vault support.
  • General upkeep and maintenance of the Vault at the Hasse Road site. – weeding, polytunnel repairs, cleaning of kit.
  • Plant care within polytunnels and glasshouse – potting up, sowing, watering, raising.
  • Managing aphid populations, spreading them between plants.
  • Collecting infested barley plants from the facilities and spreading them in designated barley tramlines around the farm.
  • Maintaining SNAP biodiversity boxes
What we are looking for
  • A keen interest in crop science, horticulture, or agriculture, degree preferred but not essential.
  • Practical farming or horticultural experience – placements, seasonal work, or internships are all valuable.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in the field.
  • Good communication and IT skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
