South Wales Vets are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person to join our close‑knit team. You will be our client's first point of contact, so a professional, courteous manner is essential.
Responsibilities- Greet customers professionally and handle telephone inquiries promptly.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including booking, cancelling, and rearranging.
- Record, pass on, and follow up on enquiries.
- Process payments, including PDQ machine usage, and allocate on the system.
- Promote services, manage debt control, and cash up daily.
- Maintain a clean reception area and process clinic emails.
- Attend team meetings regularly.

Full‑time, 4‑day working week. Hours are 8:30 am to 7 pm, with a 1‑4 Saturday rota from 9 am to 2 pm.

We are a four‑branch small animal practice located across South Wales at Abertillery, Blackwood, Risca and Newport. This role is based at our Abertillery site. Our practice is within a short drive of the Brecon Beacons, perfect for outdoor activities, hiking and exploring the beautiful countryside. We are also around 30 minutes from Cardiff. We have a laboratory for in‑house use, ultrasonography, capnography, digital X‑ray, ECG and BP.
Working as part of a team of reception staff, alongside 2 Vets and 4 nurses, you will be an integral part of offering our clients the high level of service the practice is proud to provide.
