R&D Scientist – Crop Protection – Southeast England – Salary to £55, + Benefits The Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an R&D Scientist to join a leading, sustainability-focused company in the life sciences sector. This full-time, permanent position offers hands‑on involvement in the research, development, and optimisation of beneficial insects and mites used in biological crop protection. In this role, you will manage key R&D projects aimed at developing new production systems and novel formulations, as well as improving the efficiency, quality, and scalability of existing processes.
You will design and run semi‑field trials, analyse data, and work closely with production and commercial teams to bring innovative, sustainable biological products from concept to commercial implementation.
A pioneering and international biosolutions organisation at the forefront of sustainable agriculture, dedicated to developing environmentally responsible alternatives to chemical pesticides.
The Candidate- A degree in Biology, Agriculture, Entomology, or a related subject
- Experience with beneficial insects or mites, and an understanding of mass rearing systems
- R&D trial experience, collecting and analysing data, and reporting results
- Strong technical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage or contribute to cross‑functional projects
- Organised, adaptable, and capable of prioritising multiple objectives
