As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step in when it matters most – during busy periods, holidays, or staff absences – bringing your retail management experience to a role that’s varied, dynamic and rooted in the community.
More about the roleIn this role, you’ll make sure every customer feels welcome, offering great service with a smile and helping them find something special. You’ll be sorting through donations, pricing items and creating eye‑catching displays that make our shop inviting and vibrant. You’ll play an important role in promoting Gift Aid, explaining how it helps us raise even more funds to support sick, injured and homeless pets.
No two days are the same as one moment you’ll be helping a customer choose the perfect bargain, the next you’ll be organising stock or lending a hand to our brilliant volunteers. You’ll take pride in keeping the shop clean, tidy, and well‑presented and you’ll enjoy knowing that every task you do helps make a difference to pets in need.
With our shops open Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00 and you will help us maintain high standards of service and presentation. You will work alongside a dedicated team of staff and volunteers in a role that is both flexible and impactful.
This is a zero‑hours contract, which means your hours will vary based on the shop’s needs. We are committed to paying the National Living Wage, which is currently £12.21 per hour. For this role, the total hourly rate is £13.69, including additional elements like holiday pay.
About youYou’ll bring previous retail experience, including some time spent supervising or managing and you’ll be confident working with all sorts of customers. Flexibility is important as shifts vary so you’ll be happy to jump in when needed. You’ll also be organised, practical and ready to get stuck into whatever the day brings.
